TERMS OF SERVICE
TERMS OF AGREEMENT: All writing projects commence upon rendering of payment by Client to Resumes by Joyce and Career Services (hereinafter “Company”) and payment must be made prior to writing projects commencing. Client understands that writing is a creative personalized service, and as such, payment is nonrefundable and cannot be split, or canceled except as outlined in this Terms of Service. Client shall use PayPal for payment transaction in order to purchase writing services. Client agrees to fully abide by this Terms of Service Agreement.
Writing projects will be completed in a timely manner. However, Client understands and recognizes that Company has a busy writing practice and thus, from time to time, the time frame may be extended by a few days. Company will advise Client of any additional time needed. Unless otherwise agreed, for resumes, cover letters and LinkedIn profile projects, a proof will generally be provided within 3 to 5 days of receipt of initial consultation. We provide each client with five days from the date we email their proof to advise us of any edits and to have them incorporated. The exact delivery date of the final proof will be determined by agreement of both parties. Once the edits have been incorporated and the five(5) day grace period has concluded, the project will be considered finalized. Any additional information/edits that are requested outside the five (5) day grace period will have additional fees assessed.
All writing projects include preparation of an initial proof and a five day revision period from the date the proof is delivered. Client is solely responsible for proofing and acceptance of all documents purchased. Satisfaction is assumed upon acceptance of documents. No guarantee is made regarding ability of documents to result in interviews or job offers. Client agrees to hold harmless and indemnify Resumes by Joyce from any and all liability. For resume projects, Client understands that providing thorough career information during the initial consultation is an intricate part of the writing process and, therefore, Client agrees to provide all necessary information to Company. Client’s written documents will be prepared from the data acquired from Client’s existing resume that was reviewed prior to the project beginning (if applicable), the data provided during the consultation.
Client’s project will be created by Company based on information provided at the time of initial consultation and information provided on the resume questionnaire (if applicable, particularly in cases where the client does not have an existing resume) or other submitted information/documents. If additional or new information is introduced after first proof is provided, additional fees for consultation, writing, or revisions may be applicable. If Client fails to submit the correct information or omits information needed to create the ordered document(s) accurately, Company is not obligated to include this information after the client documents have already been started.
Client agrees to make reasonable efforts to be available by e-mail or telephone to answer questions during the intake and writing process, if necessary, in order to expedite production and obtain pertinent information about Client’s work experience and accomplishments, or to clarify data that appears inconsistent. Failure of Client to provide availability and/or requisite information could result delay on the project or termination of agreement by Company.
PROJECT PRICE, PAYMENT AND REFUND POLICY: Client acknowledges and understands that the project price takes into account Company’s expertise, skill and time. Further, the project price takes into account: (1) Client intake time, including e-mails back and forth between Company and Client concerning the project, (2) content writing, (3) typesetting/design/layout, and (4) proofreading and editing (5) complexity of the project and career level.
Payment is accepted in full via credit card or check and due after your needs analysis session (interview) with your resume writer. Fees for rush service, priority service, resume updates, resume distribution, annual storage on our site, resume updates, corporate outplacement, LinkedIn profiles, recruiter distribution, career counseling, gift certificates and 24-hour or 48-hour rush services are NON – REFUNDABLE. If edits are submitted, it is understood that the client is pleased with the proof and wants to proceed with proofreading. Client further acknowledges and understands that once payment is made, should Client wish to cancel project, a penalty will be assessed as follows: cancellation after work has begun, but before first proof is provided to Client: 50% of total project price is retained by Company; cancellation after first proof is provided to Client: 100% of total project price is retained by Company. Checks returned for insufficient funds will be charged a $75.00 return check fee.
ADDITIONAL EDITING: Proofreading is the responsibility of the client. Client is solely responsible for proofing and acceptance of all documents purchased. Satisfaction is assumed upon acceptance of documents.
Client must review proof copies and request revisions (by providing specific instructions for changes in writing) within five days from the date we email their proof unless special arrangements are made and agreed to by Company. Any additional rounds of revision or any changes requested outside of the Five (5) day grace period are subject to additional charges based on thecomplexity of the change request.
If Resumes by Joyce makes an error after the emailing of the final draft, client has up to 30 days after the date the proof has been emailed to notify Resumes by Joyce and a revised copy will be emailed at no cost to the client. Resumes by Joyce is not responsible for omissions made on behalf of client or incorrect information. As a professional resume writing company, Resumes by Joyce strives for accuracy in every document we produce. However, you ultimately know yourself best and, therefore, you hold final responsibility for ensuring the accuracy (including correct spelling) of all dates, names, employers, and other facts, figures, and data. For this reason, the existence of a typographical error is justification for a correction or revision, but not for a refund. Resumes by Joyce is not liable for false statements provided by a client and used in a resume application. During the proof reading session the client is expected to review all material thoroughly.
ACCEPTANCE OF FINAL PROOF: The entire process usually takes three to five days. Each client has five days from the date the proof is delivered to email us any edits and to have them incorporated. After five days from the date the proof is delivered, the project will be considered approved and complete. Any additional work thereafter will be billed as a new project.
LIABILITY: Company is not liable for any inaccurate, incorrect or misleading information in the prepared materials as Client is required to review the materials and approve the entire content prior to final delivery. Company will not confirm or attempt to verify information provided by Client and will not be responsible for the accuracy or truthfulness of the information provided by Client. Company is not responsible for consequential damages of any kind that Client may incur from inaccurate documents while utilizing Company’s resume writing services and Client agrees to hold Company harmless from any such liability. Should Client wish to file suit against Company, the jurisdiction/choice of law shall be in Georgia and Client shall bear the cost for Company and Client in filing suit.
Client is required to provide truthful and accurate information to Company about Client’s career history. Company is not liable for any inaccurate, incorrect, or misleading information in the writing project as Client is required to review and approve all content prior to finalization of project. Company will not be responsible for consequential damages of any kind that Client may incur from inaccurate documents due to lack of proofreading by Client at the time of final delivery. Client agrees to hold Company harmless from any such liability related to the Client’s job search, including resume writing and distribution, or any other career marketing materials provided by Company.
Resumes by Joyce does not guarantee job placement, job offers, or employment success. The success of our clients is directly based upon the commitment, effort and follow-up they incorporate our cover letters and resumes into their job search campaign.

PRIVACY: Company advertises through social media communications and various networking arenas. Company expressly agrees that it will not share any Client’s personal information (name and company worked for) unless (1) Client grants permission to Company to use as a testimonial or sample, and (2) such information is ordered by local, state, or federal officials regarding investigation or a lawsuit.
ELECTRONIC FILES: Resumes by Joyce cannot guarantee the compatibility of computer files with client systems or that documents will retain their original formatting features. Resumes by Joyce does not provide technical support on document formatting and cannot guarantee system compatibility or the successful transfer of formatting features.
